Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a puzzle adventure game from Capcom writer and game director Shu Takumi, the creator of the Ace Attorney series. Note: Please compress your shader caches with 7-Zip or WinRAR before uploading them. When an emulator updates the way it handles shaders, it may break compatibility with previous shader caches for this reason, the shader version is listed below. The only drawback here is that someone has to play through the game once to 'build' a cache that can be used by others. Another approach is to cache the system's raw shader pipeline and then compile the shaders before the game even starts. A mitigation to this stuttering is to compile the shaders asynchronously to the emulator, but this has its own drawback in that in the time it takes to compile the shader, the effect in-game that relies on it won't be shown. The simplest way to do this is to recompile them at runtime, but that's slow and can cause stuttering every time a new shader is loaded in the game. Modern consoles and their games make heavy use of precompiled shaders specific to their GPUs, and these shaders can't be run natively on PC hardware, so they need to be translated or recompiled. There seems to be a theme arising that people believe it is more like a button basher now. It's fluid, it's faster and ultimately, it's more exciting. Remember people this is the Xbox 360 version we are reviewing and as a console version, it's fighting mechanics have been vastly improved. The action and fighting dynamics have seriously been improved. The pacing is much faster and more exciting, whilst keeping the focus of the narrative throughout - something Origins failed to do at times (there's a Blight going on?). I loved Origins and I feel no hesitation in stating that I believe DA2 is a much improved game. I have not been disappointed and I fail to see where and why all the user criticism spawns from on this page. I am by no means a simple fan boy and would have been bitterly disappointed had I not thought Bioware had put the same level of skill and commitment into the sequel. I completed Origins and poured over 112 hours into the game. Having now played for around 10 hours I can say with a measured opinion that it has met and surpassed all my expectations. Having now played for around 10 hours I can say with a measured opinion that it has met and Dragon Age II is an astoundingly good game. Dragon Age II is an astoundingly good game. Quests could be shortened, the grind reduced and backtracking excised to leave a leaner, faster game. But almost every part of Odyssey could use some trimming. There's some great encounters in the optional side-content too, including chasing the bounties on rival pirates who have their own comical gimmicks, like a crew that like to leap dramatically off cliff-tops, but haven't figured out the "landing safely" part yet. The distractions often lean into One Piece's sillier side, and even these weird story digressions lead to some spectacular boss fights and fun new monsters. It was hard for me to stay annoyed at Odyssey-or the giant crab for that matter. In one particularly egregious case, a chase across the desert to save a friend gets delayed by bandits stealing the crew's food, a monkey stealing Nami's wallet, a river of quicksand, a spelunking adventure to bypass the quicksand (which fails), and then a big cartoon crab turns up to just take everyone to their destination anyway. It's not just sidequests, grinding and scouring maps for treasure-the main story often forgets where it's going. Odyssey is stuffed to bursting with padding, filler within the filler. |
